A writer, filmmaker, and producer telling stories shaped between cultures and the places we call home.
Hi! I’m Louise — A Filipina-Canadian creative currently bouncing between Los Angeles, Manila, Philippines, and Atlantic Canada. A few years ago, I graduated cum laude from USC’s School of Cinematic Arts, where I specialized in writing, directing, and producing narrative film and television. Whatever the medium is, I am passionate about telling bold, character-driven stories rooted in truth, culture, and connection.
Recently, I directed an episode of Provenance, a project that earned my creative team the esteemed Best Dramatic Series award from the Television Academy. My previous films have been showcased with the Atlantic Film Festival, SeriesFest, College Television Awards, and the Toronto International Film Festival among others. Whether it be writing, directing, producing, or editing, I have helped bring over 20 narrative projects and commercials to life.
In the last few years, I’ve had the chance to work with producing heavyweights like Hutch Parker, Cathy Schulman, and Gail Katz, and collaborated with Sylvester Stallone’s team at the Cannes Film Festival to work in film acquisitions and distribution for their projects (yes, it was as wild as it sounds).
On the set of Provenance (2023)
Last December, I wrapped production on Shelter, a WWII drama set in the Philippines that I wrote, directed, and produced. Right now, I am developing my first feature, Where We Started, a Filipino coming-of-age film in collaboration with the Philippine Embassy in Canada.
After immigrating from the Philippines to Canada, I spent my teenage years volunteering and travelling through 40+ countries. My experiences roaming around fuels all of my work today—telling stories that feel escapist, yet are deeply grounded in human connection and the immigrant experience. My current focus is to write and direct stories from all over the globe, and to build creative bridges between the Philippines, Canada, and the US. Honestly, I’ll go wherever in the world if there’s a story worth telling.
When I’m not on set or behind Final Draft, you can find me improvising a new recipe in the kitchen or sipping matcha at my local café while writing my first fantasy novel inspired by Southeast Asian folklore.
